Pressing On!
One last day. Our students did an incredible job of presenting the Gospel yesterday! Our campus pastor, Rod Vestal came by and even saw what our students were up to and I believe he loved seeing what what they were up to! They continue to amaze me with their willingness to love on and serve the kids of the apartment communities that we are in without hesitation, without complaint, and without a reservation of any kind.
We had a great time last night being reminded that this week we have been like baseballs. When a baseball is just sitting still, it has no ability to to get a batter out. But, in the hands of a masterful pitcher, it will go down, go left, go right, change speeds, come in at different angles and be incredibly useful in its job. This week our students have had no control over where they have gone. They have let God move them, put them places, work through them, and do incredible things. My prayer is not only that they finish this trip strong, but that they would let this trip be a beginning to letting God use them in amazing ways.
Don't forget to check back here this afternoon to see when we will arrive back at the church. A link will be posted so that you can follow oour progress! For the last time, more to come :)

The small victories...
Tuesday really started with one of those small, yet exciting victories... clouds! We couldn't believe our eyes! What is truly exciting about that is the difference it made in the energy level of our students. They truly jumped in with the with the kids and played their hearts out!
Last night as we began to look forward to Wednesday, our students came to the realization that everything we have been doing has been in preparation for presenting the Gospel. Please be in prayer for our students as they truly invest in the lives of all the kids they have met and gained favor with! More to come...

It's hot!!!
Yesterday was an incredibly hot day! At one point, I pulled up my phone and it said 106! Its been a long time since that has been an actual temperature! I know that it is just as hot where you are at, and I only bring that up for one reason. Our students are doing a good job of following Philippians 2:14 says, "Do everything without grumbling or arguing." I had to pull up my phone to be reminded of just how hot it was because our students are doing such a great job of focussing on the kids!
We spent our first full day in the Mitchell/Appleton and Brandon Oaks apartment complexes. At Mitchell/Appleton in the morning, it was fun to see our students not really care about hanging out with each other. They did a great job of mixing with the kids from the community and playing with them in different areas! At both locations, Preston taught the story of Zaccheus. This was really fun because a little over a year ago, I had no idea if Preston knew how to talk! Now he's telling the story of someone who met Jesus!
Continue to pray for our students as they are staying very healthy and very hydrated and I know this is such an answer to prayer! Can't wait to see what God is going to continue to do! More to come...

Day one... the full version!
As I promised earlier, here is the full version of our Sunday at Mission Arlington! After we left the church (on time, by the way), we had a very uneventful drive to Mission Arlington. We were thrown our first curve when we arrived, however. Instead of helping an existing Mission Arlington apartment church, we went to a place where Mission Arlington is hoping to have a church. We passed out fliers advertising the Rainbow Express we will be putting on there every afternoon and just talking to any residents who answered their door or were hanging out where we could talk. Later we had one girl come hang out and do church with us!
Once we left that location, we had lunch and went to pass out more fliers. I have to brag on our students (and leaders), as they did an incredible job. As of this morning we have passed out fliers at 4 different locations (more than I have ever done at Mission Arlington!). They really have not complained! they have drank a lot of water, and have endured this near record heat! They seem really prepared and expecting that God will do some really cool things this week! That is my prayer!
After passing out fliers, we went to worship with the Mission Arlington staff. They have incredible servant hearts and its a pleasure to be joining in a work that has been going on for over 25 years with them! After dinner and a team meeting, everyone was pretty tired and fell asleep rather easily! One other caveat that I have to share is that we are not staying at the place I put on your info sheet. We are now staying at Grace Community Church (right across the street from Fielder Road Baptist) on Cherry St. Well, our students are in the middle of their first Rainbow Express and I would like to join them, so I will end it here. More posts to come...
